The all-new CX-50 is here! Japanese multinational automaker Mazda is renowned for its high-performing vehicle models that are fun to drive, have artistic style, and feature innovative technology. In recent years, Mazda has earned a reputation for its best-selling SUVs. SUVs currently comprise one of the most popular vehicle segments in the mainstream auto market. SUVs—especially crossover SUVs—have surpassed most other types of vehicles in popularity over the past few years, and many of the SUV models that are included in Mazda’s lineup have become best-sellers in the auto industry during this time. Mazda’s current lineup of crossover SUV models includes the CX-5, the CX-30, and the CX-9—all of which are very popular models on the mainstream auto market. The newest SUV from Mazda is the Mazda CX-50, which is a compact crossover SUV model that is expected to be released in time for the 2023 model year.

The CX-50 will be built in the United States and is expected to go on sale sometime within the spring of 2022. Because it won’t be released until the 2023 model year, not everything has been revealed yet about the 2023 Mazda CX-50 compact crossover SUV. However, while Mazda fans still have a while to wait before they can get their hands on a 2023 Mazda CX-50, the CX-50 may well be worth the wait for many drivers. If you’re in the market for a crossover SUV and are interested in making the 2023 Mazda CX-50 your next vehicle, keep reading to learn everything you need to know about this upcoming compact crossover SUV from Mazda.

Fun-to-Drive Performance

The 2023 Mazda CX-50 will come equipped with one of two engine options. The base engine for the 2023 CX-50 will be a 2.5-L naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine that generates 187 horsepower, and a turbocharged 2.5-L four-cylinder engine that produces 250 horsepower will also be an available engine choice. A six-speed automatic transmission will pair with both of these engine options, and all-wheel drive will also be a standard feature in the 2023 CX-50.

Like most Mazda vehicle models, the 2023 Mazda CX-50 will be fun and engaging to drive—especially for CX-50 drivers who choose the more powerful turbocharged engine option for this compact crossover SUV. This compact crossover SUV will also be an off-road-oriented SUV that is designed to perform well both on and off the road and offer a rugged driving experience with impressive acceleration times and refined handling.

Nature-Inspired Design

Mazda is renowned for the unique and artistic style of its vehicle models. Because it is designed to accommodate outdoor adventures, the CX-50 will have a unique design that is inspired by the sleek and refined beauty of nature. Its exterior will have a square shape with a low roofline and an overall modern and refined appearance. Rugged elements like black plastic wheel cladding and stand-out front and rear bumper trim will also help make the 2023 CX-50 appear more adventure-ready.

Nature and outdoor adventure-inspired design elements will be present in the cabin of the 2023 Mazda CX-50 as well. For example, components of the Mazda CX-50’s interior will be inspired by the durable fabric material of hiking backpacks.

Luxurious Interior

While most Mazda vehicles are designed with stylish and upscale cabins, the interior of the 2023 Mazda CX-50 will have an especially luxurious look and feel. Its higher trim levels will include leather upholstery and other upscale materials as well as available luxurious amenities such as a panoramic sunroof.

However, the CX-50 will feature a dashboard-mounted touchscreen display and will also include physical controls for an appealing balance between high-tech and traditional that will give the stylish interior of this compact crossover SUV a more modern look and feel.

Affordable Starting Prices

The starting prices for the 2023 Mazda CX-50 have not yet been revealed to the public, but estimated starting prices for this upscale, performance-oriented compact crossover SUV have already been released.

The 2023 Mazda CX-50 crossover SUV is expected to be available in four different trim levels—the base Sport trim, the mid-tier Touring and Grand Touring trims, and the top-tier Signature trim. The estimated starting prices for these four trim levels are $29,000 for the Sport, $32,000 for the Touring, $35,000 for the Grand Touring, and $40,000 for the Signature—these starting prices include destination charges.
