2021 Mazda CX-30 S Snowflake White Pearl Mica 6-Speed Automatic FWD I4 25/33 City/Highway MPG AFFORDABLE LUXURY! ONLY AT FRESNO MAZDA! FRESNO MAZDA YOUR #1 MAZDA DEALER IN FRESNO & THE CENTRAL VALLEY! The new 2021 Mazda CX-30 should please consumers who want more space than the smaller CX-3, but don't want something quite as big as the CX-5. The new CX-30 takes the formula of the smaller CX-3 and scales it up a half-size. The slightly larger dimensions wear Mazda's latest iteration of design language and sports a more modern interior layout compared to the CX-3. The only engine that's on tap for the CX-30 is a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder. It makes 182 horsepower and 186 lb-ft of torque without the help of turbo power. The only transmission is a 6-speed automatic. Front-wheel drive is standard, but all-wheel drive is a $1,400 option. With front-wheel drive, the EPA says the CX-30 is good for 25 mpg city, 33 highway, 28 combined. Opting for all-wheel drive shaves about 1 mpg from each of those figures. Safety features are plentiful on the CX-30, with all CX-30s enjoying standard automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, and active lane control. Blind-spot monitors are standard on Select models and higher. The IIHS and NHTSA have yet to crash-test a CX-30. The Mazda CX-30 isn't the most powerful subcompact crossover out there, but it handles with poise and delicacy. Corners, cloverleafs, and rotaries are more fun than they have any right to be in a vehicle such as this. The athletic CX-30 is at the top of the class when it comes to driving dynamics. That the handling is so good is even more impressive considering the CX-30 does not enjoy the benefit of an independent rear suspension. Despite the old-school design that underpins the rear end, this Mazda rides and handles better than most of the competition. Powering the eager chassis is a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder. Its 186 horsepower won't set the streets afire but does outperform some other rivals that also lack turbochargers; turbocharged competitors will beat the CX-30 in a straight line, though. A 6-speed automatic is the only transmission available. The well-mannered behavior of this gearbox leads one to question the efficacy of 8-speed gearboxes anyway, as the 6-speed usually doesn't miss a beat. Outside of the occasional stumble, it knows when to shift and what gear to pick.

2020 Mazda CX-3 Sport Soul Red Crystal Metallic 6-Speed Automatic FWD SKYACTIV®-G 2.0L 4-Cylinder DOHC 16V 29/34 City/Highway MPG AFFORDABLE LUXURY! ONLY AT FRESNO MAZDA! FRESNO MAZDA YOUR #1 MAZDA DEALER IN FRESNO & THE CENTRAL VALLEY! The 2020 Mazda CX-3 is more intent on being vivacious than being practical. It's a fun-first philosophy that makes this one of the more enjoyable tiny crossovers currently on the market. For 2020, the Mazda has simplified the CX-3 lineup, cutting it down to just one model and eliminating any options or packages. Buyers now can only choose their color and if they'd like all-wheel drive rather than the standard front-wheel drive. Under the hood of every CX-3 lies a 2.0-liter inline-4 making 148 horsepower. It teams up with a 6-speed automatic. With front-drive, gas mileage is rated at 29 mpg city, 34 highway, 31 combined. All-wheel drive drops those figures to 27/32/29 mpg. Mazda's full array of safety gear is standard on the CX-3. The list includes low-speed automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitors, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warnings, and rear cross-traffic alerts. Both crash-testing agencies gave the CX-3 high marks for crashworthiness, with the NHTSA awarding it five stars overall and the IIHS naming it one of their Top Safety Picks. The most charming part of the CX-3 is its performance. It isn't fast—148 horsepower rarely is—but it is spunky, with handling that feels more like Mazda's own Miata rather than any other subcompact crossover. The crisp, well-weighted steering and well-tuned suspension make the CX-3 a fun little runabout to tackle twisty bits of roadway. The 2.0-liter inline-4 with 148 horsepower won't impress anyone by itself, but it makes for a good partner when paired with the eager chassis. It revs easily and has decent passing power, while the 6-speed automatic does a good job of making the most of the meager power. There's a fair bit of grumbling at low speeds, though.

2020 Mazda Mazda3 Select Jet Black Mica 6-Speed Automatic FWD I4 26/35 City/Highway MPG AFFORDABLE LUXURY! ONLY AT FRESNO MAZDA! FRESNO MAZDA YOUR #1 MAZDA DEALER IN FRESNO & THE CENTRAL VALLEY! The Mazda 3 was all-new for 2019, and the redesign has kept this compact sedan and hatchback at the forefront of the segment. Though it might not be the most value-laden of compacts, it is well-built, stylish, and fun to drive. The 2020 model year sees Mazda's suite of active-safety features made standard on every trim level. Otherwise, things are much the same as they were last year. The Mazda 3 remains available as both a sedan and hatchback. Sedans are the cheaper of the two body styles but can't compete with the hatch on versatility. Both versions come standard with the same 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine. This engine makes 186 horsepower without the help of a turbocharger and can be paired up to either a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic. Interestingly, the 6-speed manual is only available on the top rung of the trim ladder. Unique to the Mazda 3 is its available all-wheel drive. Few other compact cars offer the popular weather-ready drivetrain. With the standard front-wheel drive, gas mileage for an automatic transmission sedan or hatch is 26 mpg city, 35 highway, 30 combined. With all-wheel-drive that drops to 25/33/28 mpg for the sedan; the AWD hatch loses another mpg across the board, for a rating of 24/32/27 mpg. Get the front-drive Premium-trim sedan with its cylinder-deactivation technology and mileage jumps to 27/36/30, the highest among all Mazda 3 models. With a full roster of active-safety features now standard on all models, every Mazda 3 can boast automatic emergency braking, active lane control, adaptive cruise control, and blind-spot monitors with rear cross-traffic alerts. The Mazda 3 earns five stars from the NHTSA, and the IIHS gievs it a Top Safety Pick award In either sedan or hatchback form, the Mazda 3 drives with a verve that has come to be expected from the brand. Handling is quick and responsive, and the car responds well when hustled through a corner. Drive a little more serenely and the Mazda 3 rewards with a composed ride that isn't choppy or unsettled. All Mazda 3 models employ a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder. This engine, good for 186 horsepower, pairs well with the car. The pleasant little engine has some verve to it, and the 6-speed automatic does a good job of keeping it in its power band. The powertrain combo won't be smoking the tires but it will be perfectly adequate for daily driving. There's a sport mode for those looking to have a little fun, but it's more limited than most systems. Toggle it and the only parameter that's altered is the transmission shift points—the steering feel and throttle response remain unchanged. That's a bit of a letdown compared to the sport modes found in other cars. The Mazda 3 is one of the only compacts with available all-wheel drive. Opting for it won't neuter any of the car's positive qualities, and when the bad weather hits the system is quick to send power rearward. It's a nice option to see make an appearance in the compact class.
